My mother in law even noticed it that he wasn't his normal happy self and is so down. I said Vonn Miller is kicking his butt. Nothing to be happy about.
Nobody likes a cheater. They cheered wildly for the Steelers players who won 4 in 6 seasons. They didn't boo because they are tired of him winning.

All I heard on Charlotte radio last week was how great the Panthers are and how there is very little chance of them losing. I knew then that the Panthers were in big trouble.

The loss was a GREAT lesson on humility for a brash, young quarterback.
Let's hope he learned something (or will).

He is human. He was not used to getting punched in the mouth. At least he is not Rhonda Rousey who is a fraud and won't be coming back. He will be back, the team is too good to not make it back.
He said that later, but I think it's wrong headed as he applied it, not as you do, evidenced by the second part of your quote. Sports is meaningless, outside of the exercise it provides, unless it is enlivened by another notion or as an exemplar. Winning with humility and losing with grace evidence good character.
