Saviour of the World !

Lets look at Jn 4:42; 1Jn 4:14

42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

What does it mean that Christ is the Saviour of the World ? Religionist who dont handle the word honestly would tell us this is saying that Christ is the Saviour of all of Humanity individually. That is not what these verses say or mean. Folks Christ Jesus isnt the Saviour of unsaved people. People who are lost frankly dont have a Saviour, for if they had a Saviour from Sin which Jesus Christ is Matt 1:21; 1Tim 1:15;Lk 19:10.

To say that Christ is the Saviour of lost souls is a contradiction of His very names sake !

What therefore does it mean ? Simply that Christ is the Saviour of the World of the Saved. All the People from all time, and races. The Nations of the Saved Rev 21:24

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. Its the Saved World in Christ !

Jesus is the Savior of the whole world. The problem is that not all will accept His atoning sacrifice

1 John 2:2 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

2 and he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

Now what about 1 Tim 4:10

For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

Is this scripture teaching that God is the Saviour of all men without exception ? No, God isnt a Saviour to men that arent saved, thats a contradiction. What Paul is saying here is that God is the Saviour of all men, and so that it wouldnt be misunderstood that he intends all without exception, he adds a qualifier, especially or particularly them that believe.

It also denotes all men without distinction God saves, again which is evidenced by their believing. A Lost unsaved person lacks a Saviour, or they would be saved !

Of course, That was already stated. It was also stated that some would not believe. That does not mean that Christ did not die for them.

Amen, and an important qualifier it is, because we know from scripture that many shall not believe because they are already condemned and remain under God's Wrath !

John 3:18, 36

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Rev. 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

So we know that these can't be any which make up the World [kosmos] Jesus Christ was Saviour for simply because those for whom He died, He has already been condemned for them, having had their sins and condemnation charged to Him, their Surety Heb. 7:22; Is. 53:6.

Also the word specially in 1 Tim 4:10

or therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

It means specifically, so it may read 1 Tim 4:10

or therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specifically of those that believe.

That would agree with what Salvation is in 2 Thess 2:13

3 [FONT=&quot]But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Salvation here is belief of the Truth as a result of a work of the Spirt which complements the Work of Christ !

Now what about the World in Jn 3:16 ? Thats the World of Believers, of Gods Elect/Chosen or His Sheep. I remember back in the day when you looked up the word world kosmos it would include in its various meanings " world of believers" but now that definition has been omitted ! Satan is behind that. John 3:16 was included in that meaning for the word world.

Man has taken the word believeth in Jn 3:16 and presented it as if God is saying that believing is a conditional act of obedience man must perform to get saved, but thats handling the word deceitfully, dishonestly. The word believing in the verse is a present participle, to be read:

That whosoever is believing may have everlasting. The objective end of God so Loving the Kosmos and giving Christ for it is so that it would bring about those believing. The believing is merely evidential of those God Loved and gave Christ for.

False teachers have taken in Jn 3:16 what is to be a evidential believing and made it into a conditional believing, as if its a command that man must perform to get saved, perverting the truth !

That is not what that passage says.

Amen brother! And Jesus said that believing on Him is a work of God the Holy Spirit.

John 6:29
Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

It must be given to believe on Christ John 3:27.

A person can't believe on Christ until he is born again by the Spirit; for Faith is a fruit of the Spirit Gal. 5:22.

Phil. 1:29
For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Before a person is Born of the Spirit, his own act of believing is nothing more than a work of the flesh that cannot please God Rom. 8:8.

Perfectly stated !

Wow, I wasn't aware of the definition for kosmos included "world of believers" at one time and has been removed. Yet so obvious of the last time we're now living in Rev. 12:12 !

Yes, it's only the World of God's Chosen Eph. 1:4; 2 Thes. 2:13, His Election of Grace whom Christ is Saviour of, which were appointed to Eternal Life and Given Grace before the world began.

2 Tim. 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Titus 1:1-2
1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

So their believing is evidence of New Birth Gal. 5:22 and being appointed by God to Eternal Life :

Acts 13:48
And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

But all the rest were appointed to disobedience 1 Pet 2:8, that's why they shall not believe John 3:36.
