People the Salvation that God provides by Jesus Christ and bestows upon undeserving people, which is by Grace, it isn't for everyone but only a remnant of mankind! Rom 11:5
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
Amen, and even though the context of this verse Rom. 11:5 is referring to the elect jews in the nation of israel, we know that it isn't limited to them, but also includes a remnant, or residue [kataloipos: left remaining] of Gentiles as declared by James here:
Acts 15:14, 17
14 Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name.
17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
So the remnant according to the Election of Grace, God's Elect 1 Pet.1:2; Rom. 8:33, consists of the World that God Loved and gave His only begotten Son for John 3:16, whether jew or gentile: His Special People above all other people of the earth Deut. 7:6.
But all the rest were blinded:
Rom. 11:7
What then? Israel [the nation] hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
The blinded here are the non elect; those God rejected: reprobates 2 Tim. 3:8 KJV; tares Mat. 13:38; children of hell Mat. 23:15; ungodly men of perdition 2 Pet. 3:7.
Amen to this post ! Theres a remnant of people saved by electing grace out from all nations of people !
Rom 11:5
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
This remnant, or small group is part of those that Paul writes about in Eph 1:4
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Those chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world is a very small remnant of mankind in general.
Now although the remnant of mankind is very small, yet its still a large number that no man can number Rev 7:9-10
9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
But this very large mass of people is very small compared to all the rest of mankind besides them that ever lived upon the earth in all history !
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
Jesus makes it clear that only a remnant of mankind shall be saved through Him. Matt 7:14
14 Because strait is the gate and the narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The Lords disciples understood Him to be saying few will be saved Luke 13:23-24
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
The Elect Remnant of mankind that God reserved for Himself Is. 1:9 from all the nations of the world as typified by the ark:
1 Pet. 3:20
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
nanja
Yes the eight that were saved via the ark during Noah's time was a remnant of mankind at that time. There were at that time possibly over a billion people on the earth because the life span was an average of 800 yrs, and women may have had children up to age 65.
Now lets suppose it was 1 billion people upon the earth right before the flood. The remnant that God purposed to save totaled 8 people. Now whats the percentage of the population God saved. 8 out of 1 billion ?
Less than 1% ?
