Redistribution of wealth is theft

Taxation is not theft. Taking taxes and giving the money to other people is theft.

17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

That includes his affluent income, not just his house and wife. A tyrant takes and gives to another.

15 He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage, and give it to his officers and servants. 16 And he will take your male servants, your female servants, your finest young men, and your donkeys, and put them to his work. 17 He will take a tenth of your sheep. And you will be his servants. 18 And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.”

And that is just 10%, let alone what us working stiffs have to pay.

Taxes are supposed to go to things like infrastructure, public servants, military, etc.- fundamental things which are needed for a country. If it's used for anything else, it is by definition theft- taking "your money" for a use that doesn't include you.

But there is another side to that as well, in which the Scriptures deal specifically with taxes.
Jesus said to give to Caesar's what is his, to God what is Gods.
While we don't live in an empire, the spirit of that teaching still stands.

Money does not really belong to you, it's a tool of credit constructed and owned by the Federal Reserve.
And, the Federal Reserve isn't even federal, it's actually a private entity.

In reality, wealth is not even really something you earn, it is something you bargain for a living. This is why Christ warns so heavily about wealth, stating that it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter Heaven.
The more in tune you are with money in this world, the more worldly you are. It's an inconvenient truth, which is why the statement from Jesus I just quoted is almost NEVER spoken of- people like Nick M would rather go the Pharisaic route and shift blame on others

The truth is that if you have qualms with something you don't even really have going to someone who has nothing, then you have a real problem indeed :wave2:
