The self-righteous are also quite good at self-justification. ;)

I would even be just to refer to you as enemies of the truth, and pray for your demise so that others might not be captivated by your deception, and be lost forever.

I'm curious about this. What would praying for someone's death accomplish? Do you think such a prayer "informs" God about this bad person? Or that it influences Him to stop protecting them, or even convinces Him to actually kill them? If God is just and already knows about the existence of this individual, why not just leave it up to him? Why ask Him especially to destroy someone? What does that accomplish? If your prayer really can get God to sovereignly "intefere" with their life course, why not pray for their redemption and realization of the truth, instead?

Is this a cowardly way to "kill" them yourself? You want to kill them, but you're afraid or unwilling to do so because you'd also get in trouble with God for committing murder? Didn't Jesus say that even if you just lust in your mind, instead of actually committing the act, that's also a sin? How is praying for someone to die different from desiring to kill them? :dead:

Great questions that deserve answers. :thumb:
