1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

This verse is saying the preaching of the cross continues to be the power of God to the saved.

This means the preaching of the cross is not only the historical record of Christs crucifixion.
