Fauci and pals who were deeply invested in their own developing vaccines condemned hydroxychloroquine as a treatment for covid. Was Fauci's decision motivated by money? Did he want hydroxychloroquine banned to make room for his own risky vaccine? Maybe. Nevertheless, it turns out Fauci was wrong about hydroxychloroquine among so many other issues he was also wrong about.

First, is the vaccine risky? Of course it is! But, as you always do, you ignore the other side of the issue - the risk to life and limb of not taking the vaccine.

Now about HCQ: Your argument here takes advantage of the lack of sophistication of your audience. You are implicitly overlooking the possibility that until this study came out, the overall evidentiary picture was one where HCQ showed little or no benefit.

Your strategy reminds of how anti-science types criticize science for "making mistakes" because old theories are adjusted, or even discarded, in deference to new ones. Well, that is a strength of the scientific project, not a weakness. I strongly suspect something similar is happening here - there is new evidence that HCQ works in very specific contexts. But if this really new information, your attempt to smear Dr. Fauci falls flat on its mask-bereft face.

Hundreds of Americans were on record testifying about the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine in their own treatment for covid at the same time the ignorant left was demonizing hydroxychloroquine for reasons that don't make sense and may have even been criminal.
