I am talking in broad strokes, would it have any impact? I can't remember scripture talking about martians, after all. :p

It appears that October23 has the answer to that one. You can clearly see all the references to Mars in the following passages.

GOD IS GOING TO RE-ARRANGE THE SOLAR SYSTEM SOON.

Psalms 89:11 The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine:
as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them.

Psalms 104:2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

Psalms 115:16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

Proverbs 3:19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.

Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Isaiah 34:4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

Isaiah 45:12 I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.

Isaiah 48:13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.

Isaiah 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

Hebrews 12:26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.

I have bolded the letters from the inspired KJV which God obviously intended to be a secret message waiting to be revealed in our own day! Be warned though, that only the inspired KJV gives this message. Beware of imitations. Thank you Oct2 for pointing out these scriptures which prove that there is life on the fourth planet! I wish I was as theologically acute as you!

Neither did it talk about Americans or Australians either.

It didn't talk about black holes, or nebula, or galaxies or lots of things science has discovered since.

That is because its not a scientific text book, to try and use it as such is an error.

Do you need water for life? I mean, it's a different planet; why would that matter? Idk
That is a really good looking question and the accepted answer is "maybe". On Earth, there is such a heavy reliance on water we assume it is the same everywhere. In short, it is a good indication that we are looking in the right direction.

Not in the way you mean it, but....

1 Corinthians 15

40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Mars will be more tolerable that God's wrath that you will face for spitting in his face every chance you get.

C.S. Lewis certainly didn't think so.

:plain: Ditto

C.S. Lewis said:
Each new discovery, even every new theory, is held at first to have the most wide-reaching theological and philosophical consequences. It is seized by unbelievers as the basis for a new attack on Christianity; it is often, and more embarrassingly, seized by injudicious believers as the basis for a new defense.

But usually, when the popular hubbub has subsided and the novelty has been chewed over by real theologians, real scientists and real philosophers, both sides find themselves pretty much where they were before. So it was with Copernican astronomy, with Darwinism, with Biblical Criticism, with the new psychology. So, I cannot help expecting, it will be with the discovery of “life on other planets” – if that discovery is ever made.

C.S. Lewis said:
I look forward with horror to contact with the other inhabited planets, if there are such. We would only transport to them all of our sin and our acquisitiveness, and establish a new colonialism. I can’t bear to think of it. But if we on earth were to get right with God, of course, all would be changed. Once we find ourselves spiritually awakened, we can go to outer space and take the good things with us. That is quite a different matter.

With respect to C.S.Lewis, I believe he was wrong; it seems God created the universe for earthlings. God formed earth before He created the stars. That in itself does not mean God didn't create aliens, but seems to suggest we are the reason the universe was created...not just for days, nights and seasons but also so we can worship the majesty of God.

Perhaps the main reason Mr Lewis was wrong about aliens is found in the gospel. We are told that all creation groans because of man's sin. Christ came to redeem mankind. It seems unlikely that God would impose physical and spiritual death on intelligent life that has no coonection to either first Adam or Last Adam

You make a great many assumptions which are neither explicit nor even implied in the text. :plain:

If they dismissed the gospel or said they no longer had any use for organized religion I can only imagine how that'd go over.

To imagine aliens is making a great amount of assumptions involving pseudoscientific beliefs.

 The question was that if it was discovered that life existed would it disprove the Christian narrative?....Neither myself nor Lewis has ever made the assumption that life does indeed exist but only that scripture is silent on the matter....That such a thing would NOT disprove Christianity.

Are you done?

Scripture is also silent about bubblegum....but that is unrelated to the gospel.*

But, from scripture it seems obvious that there can not be intelligent, conscious, moral beings anywhere in the universe other than here on our 'pale blue dot' / earth. Unlike bubblegum... aliens would affect or undermine God's Word. (Some believe Satan may use 'aliens' {demons} in end times, and is now preparing peoples minds to believe. Many are now anxious and wanting to believe/ trust that they are 'out there', and will one day make a earth visitation).

To imagine aliens elsewhere in the universe, *is to imagine God is unjust. Would it be just for God to curse intelligent, *moral beings who have not inherited Adams sin nature? 2 Pet. *3:13 and Rom. 8...All creation suffers because of Adams sin.*

Another reason, God would appear unjust,if aliens exist, is that they don't have a lifeline .... no redeemer as we do. *Jesus is the Last Adam, redeeming all who are descendants of first Adam. 1 Cor. 15

BP Announces Plans To Put Oil In Mars’ Water By 2025.

water_on_mars.jpg

Oil giant BP have already capitalised on NASA’s remarkable discovery of flowing water on Mars by vowing to be the first major company to have a massive oil spill in that water. The company has boldly declared that some massive oversight will lead to the polluting of Mars’ newly discovered water supply and it will be achieved by the year 2025.

“This is a huge undertaking,” said one executive. “It’s going to take effort and determination. It’s going to take foresight and planning. It’s going to take massive, unfathomable negligence every step of the way - and we’re the company to do it.

“From the first moment we had heard there was running water on Mars we looked at each other and just knew - we’re the ones to ruin that. Anyone else, even other massive oil companies, might feel a little bit of shame - but not us.

“What this has really shown us is the environmentalists were wrong. This isn’t the only planet we have. If anything we were being far too cautious. Let’s just wreck it. We’re not getting our bond back, anyway. Let’s just go wild.”
