I've been watching David Barton's program on American history and religion
for some time, and this arrogant little twit is a piece of work .
He claims to be a an "expert" on American history and the founding fathers etc,
and to be a "historian". What a laugh ! This is like calling a traveling snake oil salesman a legitimate physician ! And so many evangelical Christians admire him so much, and consider him a fountain of wisdom, including Michele Bachmann ,not surprisingly .
This clown does not know diddly squat about the founding fathers or U.S. history . He has made countless asinine claims about the founding fathers and their
supposed religious and political beliefs, and uses his utter ignorance as an excuse to
promote his putrid theocratic agenda .
For example, he has stated that most of the founding father had "seminary educations" and were devout Christians with HIS evangelical views, which is
pure poppycock. Some one has pointed out that in those days, a seminary education meant "college" education, not necessarily education in a religious seminary . So this imbecile uses this pseudo fact as an excuse to turn America closer to theocracy. He falsely claims that U.S. law is based on the Bible. It is NOT.
On today's program , Barton was discussing how allegedly "pro-life" the
founding fathers were , and how they believed that abortion should be illegal ,unlike in Europe. But there's just one problem with this claim.
Abortion was not even an issue back then . In fact, it was legal up to the quickening . If any of the founding fathers had even MENTIONED the subject of an abortion at a meeting , let alone its legality, the others would have though the had lost his mind !
Barton made the stupefyingly idiotic claim that Thomas Jefferson made laws
against abortion . What poppycock ! This idiot reads his own stupid ideas into
the Constitution and takes quotes by the founding fathers COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTEXT to justify his theocratic agenda . And millions of gullible Americans idolize this pathetic little twerp ! Appalling !
