Just A Question

Why has skinny shaming suddenly become a trend online? The whole trend of 'how real women look like'. It's almost disgusting in my opinion.

I don't know .... though in some cases, the "shaming" says more about the shamer than the person they are attempting to shame.

Welcome to TOL, BTW.

True. Just don't understand the mindset where 'its not okay if you shame me but I'll shame you just fine'. Also a lot women state it's because of men shaming women, but shaming seems to be a female to female thing.

I think it's both. Really though, it goes back to priorities. The main concern should be for the health of someone who is extremely overweight or overly thin.

Yeah there is no denying that all men aren't exactly little angels haha although saying that I don't see men shaming other men often, you think it's a society thing? . Yeah health should be the main concern, like it's okay if you're slightly overweight and don't have the figure but once that starts affecting health then :/

It's due, ultimately, to the trend which implies 'the skinnier, the better', despite the fact that most men prefer curves.

It is something of the insecurity among women and their weight then what is actually deemed attractive, and so 'skinny shaming' comes into play.

In those cases, I thinks a more a matter of some being more demanding of the opposite gender as compared to that of their own.

Any self-imposed condition which affects a person's health and ability to care for themselves and their family is a major concern.
