JESUS: God's New Adam and Our New Humanity

The first Adam sinned against God and brought sin and death upon humanity, Romans 5:12.

The new Adam, Jesus Christ, brings righteousness and eternal life to the human race as a free gift from God. "For by grace (God's goodness) are you saved through faith; and not that of yourselves: it is the gift of God" Ephesians 2:8.

God sends Jesus into the world to undo what the first Adam did. The first Adam alienated us from God. The new Adam reconciles us and the whole world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. This should be the end of religion, unfortunately its not. In spite of what the scriptures tell us, people still want to believe that they can reconcile themselves to God through religion. Religion, whether it be the Calvinist religion or the Catholic religion or whatever religion are in direct denial of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"For as by the offense of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus Christ) the FREE GIFT came upon ALL MEN unto justification of life" Romans 5:18.

Wonderful scripture that tells us so much in just a few words. Jesus comes into the world as God's new Adam to do for us that which we cannot do for ourselves because we are sinners. We are all born into sin and must be born again by the word of God which is the Gospel, 1 Peter 1:23. Faith and the Holy Spirit comes to us in the Gospel, Galatians 3:2. We hear, we believe and we are born again. Just like on the day of Pentecost when thousands of Jews were converted to Christ because they heard and believed Peter's Gospel, Acts 2:41.

Jesus, as God's new Adam and our representative full fills every jot and tittle of God's holy law, Matthew 5:18. He does this in our name and on our behalf, just like we did it ourselves. It was his life that was lived for our justification, Romans 3:26. This is why we are justified by faith and by faith alone, Romans 5:1. Jesus is God's justifier. Jesus perfects our humanity by his life, death and resurrection and takes it to heaven. Our salvation is in a very safe place at the right hand of God in heaven.

When God accepted Jesus into heaven we were accepted in him. God sees ALL THINGS in his Son Jesus Christ. As far as God is concerned the old Adamic race was put to death in his Son Jesus Christ, Romans 6:6 and God has brought forth a new humanity in his Son Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:17. We can become a part of God's new humanity by simple child like faith in Christ and his Gospel.

Salvation is totally and completely outside of us. We had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with our salvation. We are the benefactors of the Gospel. That is our part to receive what God has done for us in Jesus Christ. We are all sinners, God does not accept the works or the obedience of sinners. This means that God only accepts the works and the obedience of Jesus Christ. We are accepted only in him. The only thing that counts in the Old Testament as well as the New Testament is Faith. Faith in the doing and the dying of Jesus Christ is what will bring eternal life and nothing else.
