Exod 34:27-30
27 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write these words, for according to the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel."
28 So he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
29 Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses' hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.
30 So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were afraid to come near him.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

xxx Jesus brought over most of the 10 commandments to the new testament. Jesus told us which ones to keep. And that makes them a part of the new testament.

If it is in the new testament Christians are required to keep it. If it is not in the new testament Christians are to let it go.

A favorite teaching of many legalists is that the law is broken up into the moral law (10C) and the ceremonial law (sacrificial). So they will admit that the ceremonial law is abolished for believers but not the ten commandments. Whenever the word law is used by Christ or Paul it refers to the entire law or the Torah not the ten commandments only. The phrase law and the prophets refers to all the writings of the prophets and the first five books of Moses. We are not under any law except the law of Christ or agape love which is the true moral law of the bible.

(Hi! I'm, new.) Matthew belonged to the same party as Peter and James, the party that Paul successfully defeated. They regarded Mosaic laws and Jewish traditions, such as circumcision, as foundational. That's why there is so much talk about the Ten Commandments in Matthew.

I think your missing something. Paul didn't defeat Peter he joined him in Christ. They both had the same goal. The revelations of Jesus Christ. Peter was sent to the Jews and Paul was sent to the Gentiles.

Gal 2:7-9
7 But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel for the uncircumcised had been committed to me, as the gospel for the circumcised was to Peter
8 (for He who worked effectively in Peter for the apostleship to the circumcised also worked effectively in me toward the Gentiles),
9 and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.
