Is there a scapegoat in nearly every family? R u it?

I am just wondering about this b/c a family member of mine went to a shrink some time ago and the doctor said almost immediately that __ in that family was the family scapegoat. So i was thinking, "Oh, every family has one?"

Were you the scapegoat of your family?

if so, i feel sorry 4 you.

a friend of mine had several cats. All the cats picked on this one that looked like a runt (but was actually pretty healthy). It ws really weird how they all picked on it. This scapegoated cat had spots of harilessness and stuff.. b/c of the abuse of the others.. weird

But of course, it is much sadder when this is done to a human being.. and once a scapegoat, always a scapegoat..

I was our family's "Golden Boy" until my daughter was born. Then I became the scapegoat because I began talking openly about the abuse I had to contend with as a child.

We all need scapegoats at times. Even Jesus became one.

What's difficult is to realize when you are pointing the finger at others and then try and modulate your behavior.

I see it as projection, pure and simple.
