How Jesus Justifies and Reconciles Sinners unto God

There are a great number of people on the Forum that believe they are saved because of what they have done, what they are doing, or because of what they have become. They are a product of organized religion.

I was a member of the organized church for a number of years, so I understand it completely. You will not find the "Historical Gospel" preached or taught in the organized church, simply because organized religion and the Gospel of Jesus are not compatible, never have been, never will be. There is simply to much freedom in the Gospel. The purpose of organized religion is to keep you in bondage to the law so that you can be controlled.

Salvation is totally and completely outside of us. We had nothing to do with what God accomplished in his Son Jesus Christ. We are like spectators watching God redeem lost humanity in the pages of the Bible.

"God was in Christ, reconciling us and the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them: and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation" 2 Corinthians 5:19

The work of reconciliation has ALREADY taken place. Jesus in our name and on our behalf has reconciled us to God. You might say that Jesus is God's reconciler, Romans 3:26. We had nothing to do with the reconciling work of Christ, because it took place over 2000 years ago. God requires two things for the salvation of lost and fallen sinners.

1. A life of perfect obedience according to God's Holy Law.

2. A perfect atonement for our sins and the sins of the whole world.

Jesus has met both of these requirements for us and outside of us.

Because of the doing and the dying of Jesus we have been justified, sanctified and redeemed, 1 Corinthians 1:30. We had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with this. The scripture plainly says,

"And you, that were sometimes alienated in you mind by wicked works, YET NOW HAS HE RECONCILED" Colossians 1:21.

Or, "While we were YET SINNERS, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

You have ALREADY been saved. Salvation has ALREADY been provided for everyone. All that God wants you to do now is accept his great free gift of salvation that has been provided for everyone by his Son Jesus Christ. No one has to get good enough to get saved. Come just as you are. The Holy Spirit will make changes in your life, not organized religion.

I don't believe that. Can you name one?

However, scripture says the just shall live by his faith.

Right, living by faith does not mean living by religion.

"But to him that does NO WORKS, but believes on him that justifies the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for righteousness" Romans 4:5.

You teach that sinners Christ died for are still lost and condemned!

"Whosoever that shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" Romans 10:13.

Calling on Christ to save you is an act of faith and will be honored by God. Many are trusting in their religion to save them. Nothing saves, except for Jesus Christ. Jesus saves and he saves to the uttermost, Hebrews 7:25.

I do. You've mentioned it before.

We know each person lives by his faith.

Unfortunately they don't live by faith in Christ and his Gospel.

The Calvinist live by faith that they have been predestinated.

The Catholics live by faith in their good works.

Most religious people live by faith in their religion, which is themselves.

False teaching and promoting salvation by works by an act of man !

There were no Calvinists or Catholics in Habakkuk's day.

That is not what is being referred to, that's your theory.

"Now to him that does NO WORKS, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, HIS FAITH is counted for righteousness" Romans 4:5.

Do you think that is redundant?

You deny Rom 4:5 by teaching man is Justified by doing a required act, which is a work.

The word work ergon means:

  1. business, employment, that which any one is occupied
    1. that which one undertakes to do, enterprise, undertaking
  2. any product whatever, any thing accomplished by hand, art, industry, or mind
  3. an act, deed, thing done: the idea of working is emphasised in opp. to that which is less than work

ἔργω érgō (to work); toil (as an effort or occupation); by implication, an act:—deed, doing, labour, work.

There was no Jewish religion at the time of Habakkuk's prophecy.

Moses was not a Jew and Mosaic religion was extant at the time.

There have always been religious people and hypocrites since the beginning of time. You can read about them in the Old Testament.
