Healing the Earth (World) - when?

Will the earth be renewed to Eden-like conditions:
1) When Messiah returns?
2) Gradually during the Millennial Reign of Messiah?
3) At the end of the Millennium when the "new heavens and new earth" are created?
4) ?

In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem - Isaiah 4:2-3

Jews see themselves as agents of God in bringing about social justice and peace on earth.
This belief has led to active promotion of Marxism and "Social Justice" activism.
