Salvation is a free gift from God. It cannot be earned or deserved, nor can it be imposed.
"But not as the offense, so also is the FREE GIFT" Romans 5:15.
"But the FREE GIFT is of many offences unto justification" Romans 5:16.
"The GIFT of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ" Romans 5:17.
"The FREE GIFT came upon all men unto justification of life" Romans 5:18.
"But the GIFT of GOD is eternal life" Romans 6:23.
"Not that of yourselves, it is the GIFT of GOD" Ephesians 2:8.
This great FREE GIFT of salvation is available to all that will receive it.
"But as many as received him (Jesus) to them gave he the power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe upon his name" John 1:12.
"Being justified FREELY by his grace through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ" Romans 3:24.
Jesus comes into the world as God's new Adam and our new humanity. By his holy, sinless life he offers to God the Father a life of perfect obedience according to his Holy Law. He does this in our name and on our behalf, just like we did it ourselves. It was his life that was lived for our justification, Romans 3:26.
Having satisfied the demands of God's Holy Law for us. In our name and on our behalf he takes our place upon the cross and atones for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.
"For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" 2 Corinthians 5:21.
Many of you have not received God's great free gift of salvation. You are either trying to be good enough to deserve it, or you are trying to earn it. Some are hoping that salvation has been imposed upon them, if it has, that is not a gift, it is an imposition that has been imposed upon you. All that will be in heaven will be there because they want to be there, not because they have been made to be there.
