Google question: when I start to type a search parameter into the Google Box I get yanked off that interesting page with the large logo and "I'm Feeling Lucky" button and onto a general line up of potential answers...is there a way to stay on the first page until I click the search button or is that just the way it is?

If you go to the settings, you can turn off "Instant Search".
