Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

No by no means does Rom 5:18 teach that Christ died for all without exception, just because the word all is used. In fact, to the spiritually discerning it teaches the contrary, it teaches the limited atonement, or that Christ did not die for all men without exception, simply because the all men here that Justification of life came upon is limited to only some men, so the word all can only apply to all that received upon them Justification of life.

For its clear from other scripture that all men without exception are Justified before God, for instance Matt 5:45

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Acts 24:15

And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

1 Cor 6:1

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

2 Pet 2:9

9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

Rev 22:11
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Now the word unjust does mean being found guilty before God, in Gods court of law,

describes being found guilty in God's court of law, i.e. as a binding, legal infraction against His law which calls for divine retribution,
unjust, unrighteous, wicked.of one who breaks God's laws, unrighteous, sinful,

So basically its one God reckons guilty before Him as a law beaker.

I believe Christ died for all of Adam's descendants, no one exempted nor left out. God, through Christ - the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, saved Adam that same day he sinned. With Adam in Christ, all his descendants were born in Christ.

This is in consonance with Christ's parable of the lost sheep, lost coin and lost son (Luke 15:1-24). Before the sheep got lost, it was with its shepherd. Before the coin was lost, it was with its owner. Before the son got lost, he was with his father. So with us all. We were all born NOT lost. And to be not lost is to be in Christ. Eccl 7:29 says God made man upright. Sadly we all sinned, and became unrighteous (Rom 3:23). Hence, God commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30).

And repentance is change of mind; it is overcoming evil with good. Instead of doing evil, one changes his mind and does good instead. And overcomers will not be blotted out from the book of life (Rev 3:5) and will be seated with Christ in His throne Who also is an overcomer and sat down with the Father in His throne (Rev 3:21). Sadly, non-overcomers will be blotted out and will have their share and reward in the lake of fire (Rev 20:15). But those not blotted out will be ushered into the heavenly portals (Rev 21:27).

[h=2]Does Rom 5:18 teach that Christ died for all men without exception ?2[/h]However this cannot be the case for them in Rom 5:18b wherein the declaration of scripture is

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so/in this manner by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

Now the word Justification here is the greek word : dikaiósis and means:

acquittal, justifying, justification, a process of absolution.

It declares the acquittal of the penalty and guilt of sin, released from the deserved penalty of death, and why is this so ?

Well the verse tells us so, by or because of one act of righteousness, that one being Jesus Christ, which act of righteousness does include His One act of obedience unto death as in Vs 19; So its that One act of suretyship obedience alone, that all men, by a free gift of Gods grace, are given by imputation, Justification of life ! This is not an offer of Justification, no more than the opposite with adam was an offer of condemnation. So since we know that some men are under condemnation Jn 3:18; 1 Cor 11:32, which means they cant be part of the all men referred to in Rom 5:18b, hence limited atonement is affirmed by Rom 5:18 !

Only a Calvinist could say that "to all men" doesn't really mean "all men."

Parts 1 and 2 of this excellent study, clearly illustrated with scripture references, does absolutely prove Limited Atonement!

All the men which were Given to Christ Eph. 1:4 to be their Covenant Head and Surety Heb. 7:22 are given Justification of Life Rom. 5:18, and they are Limited to the only portion of humanity which has been abjured Legally Righteous according to God's Law and Justice by Christ's Blood Rev. 13:8; Rom. 5:9; Is. 53:11 on their behalf, and that's even while they are being in a state of impurity and sinfulness, being enemies of God and in unbelief Rom. 5:10.

But the rest are the Unjust / Unrighteous:

Matt 5:45

45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Jesus does not agree with the Calvinist view that there's no elect who will be lost. See Matt 8:11, 12. Again, all were predestined for adoption as sons by Christ. But only the overcomers will not be blotted out from the book of life. All descendants of Adam are numbered with the Elect. But not all will become overcomers.

Does Rom 5:18 teach that Christ died for all men without exception ? 3Now why does it say " unto Justification of Life" ? Notice Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

I will explain that, and this will show even moreso why this verse teaches a limited atonement. The words all men are a stumbling block to the carnal natural mind and heart, yet the all men are limited to only some, all of which receive Justification unto life !

One of the reasons is because all men whom Christ represented by His one act of Righteous obedience unto death, even the death of the cross, are Justified and entitled to life eternal. John Gill writes:

even so by the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men to justification of life; the righteousness of Christ being freely imputed without works, as it is to all the men that belong to the second Adam, to all his seed and offspring, is their justification of life, or what adjudges and entitles them to eternal life.

Because Jesus Christ has erased their sin debt by His Obedience, and He has actively obeyed Gods Law perfectly FOR THEM, which entitels them to inherit Eternal Life.

Remember what Jesus told the young rich ruler when he asked Him Matt 19:16-17

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

You see that ? Jesus told him in answering what he needs to do that he may have eternal life, Luke wrote that he asked about inheriting eternal life Lk 18:18

18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

What was Jesus respond ? Notice : " but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."

Thats right, if the young man could keep the commandments, and that perfectly, he would enter into, inherit eternal life !

And , so every sinner Christ lived and died for, His act of obedience, they have kept the commandments, through Him. Just as they disobyed the Holy Commandment of God in adam, they kept and obeyed the Holy Commandments through Jesus Christ, hence, they are entitled to eternal life.

Let me explain more by looking at the very next verse after Rom 5:18, which is Vs 19 which basically says the same thing as Vs 18, but in a slightly different way Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous

Here we find that by the obedience of one, Jesus Christ, many shall be made righteous or just. The word for righteous, the greek word dikaios and means:

just; especially, just in the eyes of God; righteous; in a wide sense, upright, righteous, virtuous, keeping the commands of God; So because of the one act of righteous obedience of Christ for them He represented, they are made righteous, and God in Him reckons them Righteous and keeping the commandments of God, as Jesus told the young man in Matt 19:17

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

So thats one reason why, all those men and women in Rom 5:18 that Justification unto life came upon are entitled to eternal life !

Christ died for every man, Scriptures say so (Heb 2:9). How so? Because God saved Adam that day he fell into sin through Christ, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. With Adam in Christ, all his descendants are born in Christ, NOT born in sin.

People start out, in life, NOT lost. If they were born in sin, then they start out, in life, lost. But that would be against Christ's parables of the lost sheep, lost coin and the lost son (Luke 15). These three did not start out lost. Before the sheep got lost, it was with its shepherd; before the coin got lost, it was with its owner; before the son went lost, he was with his father. So with us. We were born NOT lost. And to be NOT lost is to be in Christ. Therefore, we were born in Christ.

Does Rom 5:18 teach that Christ died for all men without exception ? 4

Again, why is it called Justification of life ? Not only because those Christ lived and died for are entitled to and have a right to life eternal Rev 22:14

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

How do they do Gods commandments ? By Christ doing them for them Rom 5:18-19 !

Now once again, all those Christ lived and died for, shall receive from the Lord spiritual life, because to them, Christ is a life giving Spirit 1 Cor 15:45And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

Now who did the Last Adam become a life giving Spirit unto ? Those that He was delivered for their offences and was raised again for their Justification Rom 4:25 which Justification gives Life, hence Justification unto life ! Christ must give them Life as their Last Adam. They shall all be made alive spiritually, by a new life or new birth, because that which caused them death, be it spiritual or otherwise, was sin, for all death is the wages of sin Rom 6:23.

However when sin hath been dealt with, put away, taken away, by the blood or death of Christ 1 Jn 3:5

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Also see Jn 1:29 then also the consequences of the penalty of sin is done away with or abolished. Paul wrote that Christ did what ? Abolished death here 2 Tim 1:10

But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Note: Jesus Christ cant offically be ones Saviour without for them abolishing death ! All who enter into the second death, Jesus Christ was not their Saviour, sorry ! That would contradict the fact that Hes a Saviour !

Now since death has been abolished, Divine Justice to vindicate that, must give Life for an evidence. This evidences that Christ death of obedience did indeed satisfy His Justice for all them Christ died for and put away their sins. So it would be an injury and injustice, to the Person and Work of Gods Beloved Son, that any for whom He died for, would remain in spiritual death and or go into the second death !

God commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). And repentance is a change of mind for that which is good - instead of doing evil, do good. In other words, overcome evil with good (Rom 12:21). God COMMANDS all to repent because all are capable of repenting. And to be capable of repenting simply means one is able to do SOMETHING. And when one is able to do SOMETHING, it is because he is in Christ for apart from Him, man can do NOTHING.

All those who heed God's call and overcome evil with good, Christ will not blot out their names from the book of life (Rev 3:5) and will be seated with Christ in His throne as He also overcame and sat down with the Father in His throne (Rev 3:21). Sorry for those who refuse to repent and are overcome of evil instead of overcoming it with good. Their names will be blotted out. See Exo 32:33

Those whose names were blotted out and hence NOT found written in the book of life will have their portion and reward in the lake of fire (Rev 20:15). Those not blotted out will be ushered into the heavenly portals (Rev 21:27).

Oh really? Let's discuss the points I made in the Op. What are they, what scripture did I use ?

You used scripture to show that there are those who were at those times unjustified.

However, Romans 5:18 doesn't say that all men are justified. It says that Christ's act brought justification to all men. Romans 3:25 makes it clear that being justified requires faith.

So, your attempts to connect these two just failed miserably.
