Joe Paterno did wrong. In case you forgot. His assistant coach was molesting boys for a long time at The Pennsylvania State University under the football program. Joe and his boss the AD talked about it and Joe decided those things don't happen, he didn't believe it. Paterno was fired by school board, an unusual move because the AD and the President were also fired. Paterno died very shortly after his dismissal. The AD and President are facing some serious felony charges as they are "mandated reporters".
Now that the recap is over, students are making another statue of Paterno. His original statue was removed after it was uncovered what he did in covering up a child molester by not reporting to authorities. Yes, he was your football coach for 40 years. Guess what, he did wrong, and it was terribly wrong.

Last year, the NCAA gave back former Penn State coach Joe Paterno's football wins, vacated following the Jerry Sandusky child-abuse scandal. But so far the iconic bronze statue of the beloved coach that was removed from outside Beaver Stadium in 2012 remains hidden in a "secure location"
