It amazes me when I talk to people who are convinced that Peterson is guilty, but don't think he deserves the death penalty.
Killing Lacy and Connor took premeditation and preparation. It's not an "any one of us could have made a mistake" scenario.
Aside from the actual killings, one thing really bothers me about this man. When I think about the lies he told his mistress and his friends and his manipulative behaviors, I get the impression that this is a person to whom all other people are just scenery in the story of his life. Unimportant except as in how they relate to him. Window dressing. Things to be manipulated and used however it benefits him. I have no doubt that he would not refrain from murdering again if it benefited him if he were to ever be allowed back into society, be it in 10 years, 20 years, 50 years.
Why should society tolerate such a person and allow them to live? Even if one were to ignore the biblical principles that demand death as justice for cold-blooded murder, why would anyone want to keep such a killer alive?
