Nobody can determine if this pandemic is under control without widespread testing to identify the "asymptomatic" carriers who will unknowingly continue to infect those around them - Georgia, Florida and Texas are attempting to reopen their economies without even adhering to the federal government's own guidelines!

Health experts are stating 5 million tests a day are needed - at present the grand total of Americans tested is 6 million which is still less than 2% of the population!

This President and his supporters are desperately trying to resurrect the American economy before the the 2020 Election - irrespective of the collateral damage!

One of our state representatives has just filed a brief in federal court challenging the constitutionality of "Stay At Home" orders given by governors. The constitution does not give governors the power to "quarantine" anyone, or to deprive any citizen of life, liberty, or property without due process. Though emergency powers are broad during a declared emergency governors are not kings either, nor does the US constitution afford them the powers to shut people in, or shut down commerce without due process, even in a so called emergency. This is a good national discussion to have, executive orders need to have limits as well, and the people need to have a say in the duration of what constitutes an emergency not a governor, or a president.

While the President banned flights from China on February 3rd, the CDC testing fiasco prevented the Governor and Mayor of New York from determining that COVID-19 was entering their jurisdiction through the "back door" - international flights from Italy!

The President's denials and accusations made up until March 9th speak for themselves - apparently he has trouble remembering that America's intelligence agencies had briefed him concerning the COVID-19 threat over a dozen times in January and February alone!

Although this President has claimed that he has delegated to the Governors the authority to take the actions necessary, there have been no successfully challenges as to their constitutional authority to shut the public and private sectors down and issue a "Stay At Home" order!

Michigan court rules governor's stay-at-home order does not violate constitutional rights

A Michigan court on Wednesday ruled that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's (D) stringent stay-at-home order in response to the coronavirus outbreak does not violate residents' constitutional rights, denying a motion for a preliminary injunction.

A group of five Michigan residents filed a lawsuit against the governor and other state officials claiming that the quarantine measures infringed on their constitutional rights to procedural and substantive due process. They also alleged that the state's Emergency Management Act was unconstitutional.

The Michigan Court of Claims rejected both allegations, ruling that an injunction against Whitmer's order would not serve the public interest, "despite the temporary harm to plaintiffs’ constitutional rights."

"Although the Court is painfully aware of the difficulties of living under the restrictions of these executive orders, those difficulties are temporary, while to those who contract the virus and cannot recover (and to their family members and friends), it is all too permanent," Court of Claims Judge Christopher M. Murray wrote.

Your Stormy Daniels comment doesn't bolster your argument, and given that every state governor was ill prepared, expecting the feds to bail them out collectively, had absolutely no stores of PPE, ventilators, masks, etc doesn't establish that our president was asleep at the wheel, in fact he mobilized the needed supplies at the federal level quicker than any president has ever reacted in a national emergency. You can take all the shots you want at Trump, it will not change the fact that Joe Biden is a weak flawed candidate, and just like Bob Dole, or John McCain, he will never see the White House, even honest liberals (which it appears your not) admit that ole Joe isn't playing with a full deck, it is actually kind of sad/embarrassing watching him attempt to keep a cogent thought. 56% of the deaths and confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the US are in the Metro NYC region, the region that deliberately defied Trump in February. If you exclude that anomolous data and recalculate the stats, America's Coronavirus metrics look like those of Germany or Canada.

My county in Northern New York, for example, heeded the warnings coming from Washington and Albany, and we have a confirmed cases count of 61 today. 0 deaths. I went back to work yesterday.
