Change of law

What is involved in a change of law, specifically that spoken of in the book of Hebrews that pertains to the change of priesthood?

Hebrews 7:12 NASB - 12 For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.

I believe the change of priesthood involves the Levitical priesthood and the priesthood of Jesus.

Christ was not a levitical priest. The change involved the removal of the old priesthood and the festivals. The New Covenant is baptism in Christ name, his priesthood, and keeping the Sabbath and moral commands of God.

Christ was not a levitical priest.
About His priesthood.

Hebrews 7:14-28 NASB - 14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. 15 And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, 16 who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life. 17 For it is attested of Him,"YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVERACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK." 18 For, on the one hand, there is a setting aside of a former commandment because of its weakness and uselessness 19 (for the Law made nothing perfect), and on the other hand there is a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. 20 And inasmuch as it was not without an oath 21 (for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him,"THE LORD HAS SWORNAND WILL NOT CHANGE HIS MIND,'YOU ARE A PRIEST FOREVER'"); 22 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant. 23 The former priests, on the one hand, existed in greater numbers because they were prevented by death from continuing, 24 but Jesus, on the other hand, because He continues forever, holds His priesthood permanently. 25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. 26 For it was fitting for us to have such a high priest, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners and exalted above the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. 28 For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.
The change involved the removal of the old priesthood and the festivals. The New Covenant is baptism in Christ name, his priesthood, and keeping the Sabbath and moral commands of God.
I would like to understand better what you are saying.

For example, we speak somehow of old covenant law. But if the Law or Law of Moses in the old covenant or in regard to the old covenant is called old covenant law then that raises the question of if there is something called new covenant law, which question would not exist if the covenant God made with the nation of Israel and the Law associated with it were not called old. Is there such a thing as new covenant law, and if there is then what is it?

Or, knowing these things exist to be talked about are they that which was intended when we read of a change of law?

There is no direct outline, but all of the info can be found in the bible.

History of the Priesthood

Begins with a Tribe that deals more closely with Heaven, and Ends with a Tribe that deals not so closely with Heaven:

Tribe of Dan = Nakedness of Gospel, "Two Brothers Shamed" Gen. 9:22
Tribe of Manasseh = Lot was confounded by his "Two Daughters"
Tribe of Levites = Moses is dumb founded by the "Rod of Joseph" (Staff of Moses) (Antichrist Introduced)
Tribe of Ephraim = David delivers a deadly head wound to Goliath
Tribe of Aaron = Apostle Peter takes up 153 Fish
Tribe of Joseph = Antichrist Confirming the Covenant

(Dan thrives being spiritually opposed to the Gospel's Program, that is how they were created, to compliment their spiritual nature, they are simply worthless for any purpose of salvation or inheritance, recall the events of evolution the gospel washes away with the flood waters) Manasseh was a picture of Joseph until Joseph became more dominant in the Gospel's Program. As for the Levites, they were the prophets that were entrusted to provide the Law of the Gospel. God did not initially begin his Gospel's Program by allowing mankind to write a Law, this began with Moses. Continuing, the Hebrews/Ephraim were given this title when David completed the process of bring the Jewish people into Jerusalem, does not the book of Esther and Ezra give account of the Ephraim baring this title? Continuing, Aaron has the title from the New Testament until the Antichrist is born, following Aaron reception of the title:

(Saul was prosecuting David because he thought he had that right, since David acted as a King, but the titles were not divided, not until God rebuked the Apostle Peter, technically)
"Head of the Priesthood" and "Head of the Tribes" used to be one title, however, after Aaron recieved the title of "Head of the Priesthood", Judah took the title of "Head of the Tribes", right now, the Antichrist has "Head of the Priesthood", (since his is the "Two Witnesses", Joseph cannot normally take this title at all), when the Antichrist reigns he will have the title of "Head of the Tribes" (right now, Confirming the Covenant automatically gives him this right, but technically its not in full until he reigns for 5 months):

Worthless Tribe #1 = Tribe of Dan
Worthless Tribe #2 = Tribe of Judah

Judah cannot have the title of "Head of the Priesthood", and Judah only has the title of "Head of the Tribes" as a form of rebuke. During the gospel's program the Tribe of Judah has been gaining from the other tribes, at the same time, Joseph has been becoming more significant along those lines. Needless to say, the "Heart of Judah" is where all the Separatist Inheritances* are judged that happens to be the USA, home of Jews.

The Tribes collectively are a pictured of the Body of Jesus Christ, only a few of them identify with Genetic Lines at present, as the gospel sees them, not all. The Tribes are simply different relationship, here and there. Once the Judgement is completed and Star Wormwood takes all the Tribes, these arguments are not important, except for the division of the people in the New Universe, which is reconciled before the transition into the New Universe.

The law that no longer applies is the external law,

"They are only a matter of food and drink and various ceremonial washings--external regulations applying until the time of the new order" (Hebrews 9:10).

As written CherubRam the laws of today deal with morals. Also Love and Respect for God Will.

There is currently only one priesthood for the Father and Son ... and we're it.
No, I was referring to Jesus' priesthood. It is His priesthood that is according to the order of Melchizedek. It is His priesthood, not the Levitical priesthood. Jesus was not of the tribe of Levi, but of Judah.

There never was and there never will be a change of law. Gods laws stand forever:

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven"
Matthew 5

Gods law stands forever:

“So you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this same day I will have brought your armies out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day throughout your generations as an everlasting ordinance."
Ex 12:17

"In the tabernacle of meeting, outside the veil which is before the Testimony, Aaron and his sons shall tend it from evening until morning before the Lord. It shall be a statute forever to their generations on behalf of the children of Israel."
Ex 27:21]

"This shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings: you shall eat neither fat nor blood.’”
Leviticus 3:17

"You shall eat neither bread nor parched grain nor fresh grain until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings."
Leviticus 23:14

“‘Now if you as a community unintentionally fail to keep any of these commands the Lord gave Moses— 23 any of the Lord’s commands to you through him, from the day the Lord gave them and continuing through the generations to come" Numbers 15:23

There is much, much more like this, saying the law stands forever, for all generations.

There is no such a thing as: "The messiah will come and abolish the law". It just doesn't exist.

I do want to understand what the writer of the book of Hebrews is saying. And I do accept all of the Bible beginning with Torah and the rest of the TaNaKh.
