At BEL/DBC, we are determined to help our friends hurt by Hurricane Katrina! On the radio show, you've heard me announce specific needs for two families. Here is an update:
Phillips Housing & Job: David & Theresa Phillips lost their Slidell home and his New Orleans job, and said that they would like to relocate to Colorado if at all possible to raise their family (including their firstborn who is due this week!) in the Christian fellowship at Denver Bible Church. Our members have come together to offer David and Theresa room and board while they get settled, and money to cover their next month's car loan payment, and plenty of good job interview opportunities. David has the technical, mechanical and computer skills necessary to operate and maintain equipment, and would be an asset to most companies with his ability to learn quickly and perform well. Please call 800-8Enyart if you know of a job opening, especially in the Denver area, for David (or for others displaced by Katrina)!
Riccobono Tuition: You have heard Bob announce Joe and Jenny Riccobono's sudden need to cover tuition at a Denver Christian High School. Well, two families at DBC have meet and decided to pay for a full-year of tuition for Joseph, a 4.0 student from Covington Louisiana, now enrolled and starting the first day of school on schedule with 700 other students at Maranatha Christian Center in Arvada, Colorado! Joseph will greatly miss his friends and dear relatives in Louisiana, but we thank God that this need is being met!
Other Families: Bob Enyart Live maintains a mailing list, updated annually, of our friends around the country. We have 312 families from Louisiana (mostly New Orleans and its suburbs), and 20 in Mississippi, who we have remained in touch with throughout the years. Our members have offered housing, encouragement, and guidance for four more families who need a place to stay, and recover, and begin to rebuild their lives. Also, we can take in an additional older man or woman. These opportunities are all in the Denver area, except for housing for two of the families which is available on a Texas ranch about 350 miles from New Orleans.
