America: The Last Best Hope For Christianity And The World Of The 21st Century

I wrote this today to my grandson Robert.

Robert, I wanted you to have this magnificent
work by Dr. William J. Bennett "America: The
Last Best Hope" in your library. It was published
in three separate volumes. This in the complete
one volume edition.

I make the bold and true statement that America
can NOT be separated from the successful carrying
out of Jesus' Great Commission in your lifetime of
say 95 years and I think also long long after you have
gone to be with the Lord (at age 96.)

You are very much interested in the successful
carrying out of Jesus' Great Commission to go and
make disciples of all nations and therefore you must
be very much interested in the $$ funding engine
(America) that powers it economically and with
Christian foreign missionaries.

There is no other country in the world of the 21st
century that does what America does to empower
and push forward and $$ fund Jesus' Great
Commission. America alone is THE nation that
does that.

Not a single nation in Europe does this. Not a single
nation in South America and Central America does this.
Not a single nation in Asia or in Africa does this.

America stands alone as THE great $$ funder of Jesus'
Great Commission and as the supplier of Christian
foreign missionaries and the $$ funder of Christian
Organizations on the front lines of Helping In Jesus'
Name -- organizations like Samaritan's Purse, Mercy
Ships, Gideon's International, NickV Ministries, Joni &
Friends, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association,
Operation Heal Our Patriots, and the thousands of
local Christian Churches all across America. Let us
NEVER forget America's local churches - the web
says there are approximately 350,000 local Christian
congregations in America. America $$ funds these
350,000 local churches. This alone is a HUGE
push-forward of Jesus' Great Commission to go
into all the world and make disciples of all nations
teaching them to obey the commands and truths
that the Lord Jesus gave to the world in the four
gospels.

Look over the table of Contents. Spot read in this
book. Look at the Index and see if you can find
something that especially interest you. Or you
can be a real trooper and read all 780 pages,
Dr. Bennett titled his work "America: The Last Best Hope"
because America IS The Last Best Hope. If America dies
then the lights go out and the world returns to The Dark Ages.

I take the opposite view:
I am, I am glad to say, a totally committed Postmillennialist and
I know for a fact that the Lord Jesus though the supernatural
power of the Holy Spirit blessing simple gospel preaching,
is going to eventually Christianize the entire world.

The Lord Jesus wins The War For The World.

How do I know that?

The Lord Jesus said at the end of Matthew's gospel when He
gave His Christian Church His Great Commission, that He NOW
had been given ALL authority both in Heaven and here on the earth
then Jesus said THEREFORE go and make disciples of ALL nations
and we are GOING TO GET THAT DONE .... before BEFORE the
Lord Jesus returns.

It is not good for the human mind and emotions to be pessimistic
and to take a pessimistic view of the future of the human race and
the future of worldwide Christendom.

(3:2) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (3:3) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (3:4) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; (3:5) Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.​

My friend, everybody has "their passages" all lined up and ready to paste.

In the amazingly endless "debates" between the Armenians and the Calvinists
both sides have "their passages" all lined up and ready to paste.

The same is true between the Catholics and the Protestants.

-- and the same is true between the Postmill optimists
and the Premill pessimists (or Dispy pessimists.)

A lot of the time it ends up being "Hey if you don't agree with my
interpretation of this passage then you don't believe the Bible."

Sometimes it ends up being, "Hey if you don't agree with my
interpretation of this passage then you are not a true Christian."

Not suggesting you are like that, juts saying many true Christians are
like that,

Most thinking and reading Christians pick a system that corresponds to
their personality and then they hold to that system and IGNORE all the
Bible verses that do not harmonize with their system (or set of beliefs).

The Postmillennial Eschatological System is supported by Biblical arguments
presented in untold thousands of pages of works defending
Postmillennialism and its optimistic view of God's human race project
and Jesus's Christian Church -- for example Dr. Kenneth Gentry's masterpiece
titled He Shall Have Dominion is 600 + pages packed with solid Biblical
exegetical arguments supporting Postmillennialism (optimism and victory and winning)

How to handle that 600 + page book:
(1) ignore it
(2) Dismiss it as already debunked by the people "on your side."

The Premill's or the Dispy's are de facto exactly like an NFL coach
that tells his team 30 minutes before the game, "Hey, listen up, there
is no possible way that you all are going to beat this team out there
tonight. You are going to lose this game, I want to make sure you
fully understand that BEFORE you take to the field."

So we have a huge number of Christians Churches that have a congregation
of 60 to 100 people with no growth and are in the process of vanishing off
the planet as the members die out from old age -- and they consider that
normal because "the Bible says" "that we cannot win" the war against
evil- that we CANNOT successfully carry out Jesus's Great Commission
therefore we ain't gonna even make a tiny effort to get it done.

Sad stuff all around.
