A Serious Conflict Between Man's Law and God's Law in 2015
When there is a serious conflict in the United States between the laws of
God and man's law, then this should signal for many that the tribulation
referred to in Matthew 24: 21, 29-30 is either ongoing or is just
beginning. From the point of view of those claiming to be Christians, when
there is a clear and serious disagreement between the moral law of God - on
homosexuality and lesbianism, for example, in the U.S. - then the suffering
of Christians from stress, threats to their lives, freedoms and freedom
from persecution would be expected to increase.
And when there is such a clear and serious disagreement between God's law,
the moral law, and man's law, other prophecies in Scripture come to mind as
adding to the understanding of what is happening in the tribulation of
Matthew 24: 21, 29-30. The tribulation is like the indignation of Isaiah
26: 20, the overflowing scourge in Isaiah 28: 15, the time in Daniel 8: 19,
of the indignation, and in Daniel 8: 23, the time when the transgressors
are come to the full. In Daniel 8: 23 "transgressors" is from pasha
Strong's number 6586, "to break
away, from just authority, i.e, trespass, apostatize, quarrel, offend,
rebel...." The False Prophets like to quarrel with the word of God,
claiming they have the word of God.
Just as there is no one super False Prophet or one man super
Anti-Christ (many anti-Christs running around and the spirit of
anti-Christ in I John 4: 3), so the king of fierce countenance who
stands up when the transgressors (apostates) are come to the full is
not one man. Matthew 24: 11 says "And many false prophets shall rise,
and shall deceive many."
So, at the time when there is a clear and serious disagreement between the
moral law of God and man's law there may also be a clear and serious
conflict between the False Prophets and the remnant, those in
Revelation 12: 17 who have the testimony of Jesus Christ at the time when the
dragon-serpent is casting a flood out of his mouth after the remnant. The
dragon-serpent is inspiring the number of False Prophets to speak lies.
The valley of decision in Joel 3: 14-15 is still another text adding to an
understanding of the tribulation of Matthew 24.
"Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord
is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon shall be darkened, and
the stars shall withdraw their shining."
And there is the threshing floor of Jeremiah 51: 33, "The daughter of
Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little
while and the time of her harvest shall come." The threshing floor is
where the wheat is separated from the chaff, where the followers of the
False Prophets are separated from the followers of Christ. "Let both grow
together until the harvest: and in the time of the harvest I will say to
the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles
to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." Matthew 13: 30
The tribulation is a time of threshing, of separation, and of the harvest.
"And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the
river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and
sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and
an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the
holy people, all these things shall be finished." Daniel 12: 7
Literalists, those who follow the letter and not the Spirit, may not
understand that scattering the power of the holy people in Daniel 12: 7
means the influence of Christians toward the end of the age will be
severely diminished.
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud,
blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy.......5. .Having a
form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn
away............7. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge
of the truth.
8. Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the
truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith." II Timothy
3: 1-2, 5, 7-8
From II Timothy 3, what can be called the II Timothy church, or ekklesia,
has lost its spiritual strength.
Then look at Matthew 5: 13, "Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt
have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good
for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men."
Matthew 5: 13 is describing the spiritual condition of the church after the
falling away of II Thessalonians 2: 3-7. "Savour" might be understood as
only referring to how salt gives food a better taste. But the Greek word
behind savour is Strong's Exhaustive Concordance number 3471, moraino, from
3474, moros, "dull or stupid, as if to shut up, heedless, blockhead..."
Moraino is a cognitive condition. But in Matthew 5: 13 moranthe refer4s to
a spiritual condition. Under the many false prophets operating for
decades, the churches have lost their intelligence, which means their
spiritual discernment.
Now, in 2015 the U.S. Supreme Court decides on Obergefell v. Hodges, that
the right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples by the Due Process
Clause and the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the
Constitution. Apparently the Court held that the Fourteenth Amendment
requires all states to grant same-sex marriages and recognize same-sex
marriages granted in other states. The Court overturned its prior decision
in Baker v. Nelson, which the Sixth Circuit had invoked as precedent.
Then, Kim Davis, an elected Rowan County, Kentucky, clerk filed an
emergency application with the Supreme Court seeking to put the lower
court's order on hold while she seeks an appeal. After the Supreme Court
denied the application, Davis continued to deny the licenses. Federal
judge David Bunning of the United States District Court for the Eastern
District of Kentucky ruled she must issue marriage licenses to all
applicants, and when she refused he had her jailed for contempt of court.
Four couples and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) asked the court
to fine Davis rather than incarcerate her, but Judge David Bunning had Kim
Davis jailed for an *indefinite* time period.. Bunning was appointed by George W. Bush in 2001 to a seat on the United States District Court for
the Eastern District of Kentucky.
If it turns out that Christians in the U.S. do not have enough influence to
cause elected state and federal officials to take action to free Kim Davis,
and to over-turn the Supreme Court decision on Obergefell v. Hodges, then
the spiritual and earthy power of the II Timothy 3 church has been
scattered - severely diminished - and this is an indication that the church
has lost its Savour, as in Matthew 5: 13. It has lost its spiritual
discernment and its spiritual and earthy powers.
