A PECULIAR PEOPLE

Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Deuteronomy 26:18 And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;

The Lord called Israel chosen to be a peculiar people above all the nations.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Peter calls the remnant of Israel a peculiar people. Peter is not speaking of the church in this dispensation, the body of Christ. Peter is speaking of the Israel of God, the remnant.

Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Paul here is not saying that we, the body of Christ, are a peculiar people. What Paul is saying is that Christ gave himself for us, the body of Christ, and also, as well, he purified the remnant of Israel unto himself a peculiar people, so both would be zealous of good works. Christ purified the remnant apart from the body of Christ, to be a peculiar people.

False, the Church, the Body of Christ is the peculiar people Israel. Titus 2:14 proves that the BOC is Israel Spiritually.

To say Christ purified a jewish remnant apart from His Body the Church is made up fable, and against Christ !

1 Pet 2:9 is referring to the Body of Christ, which does have some saved ethnic jews in it, but also some gentiles. 1 Pet 2:5 refers to them as a spirtual house, other words a spiritual temple

⁵ ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Now thats the same as the Spiritual Temple in Eph 2:19-22

¹⁹ Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; ²⁰ and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; ²¹ in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: ²² in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Also when Peter wrote 1 Peter some of the converts were gentiles, we know this from the phrase 1 Pet 2:9-10

⁹ But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: ¹⁰ which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

This is the Body of Christ Spiritual Israel !

Also when Peter wrote 1 Peter some of the converts were gentiles, we know this from the phrase 1 Pet 2:9-10

This is the Body of Christ Spiritual Israel !
