    The Late Great Urantia Revelation

There’s got to be some allegory for all that so you can dismiss the actual truth with all your pseudo-mystical nonsense.

    The Late Great Urantia Revelation

More Gnostic drivel from the Zekester.

    The Late Great Urantia Revelation

Yes, they’re both clinically insane by DSM5 standards (and, of course, the standards of the one true and living God who is not their Creator and Savior).

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

The question goes to credibility, your honor. :) ;)

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Wait... Is this just a barb or is Clete a Driscollite?

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I’m not here just to display my knowledge of languages, or whatever Clete insisted. In fact, the real issue seems to be that Clete considers the forum format to be exculsively for debate, whereas I was merely making discussion comments without engaging in debate whatsoever. This, more than...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Backatcha. Open Theism didn’t even exist in ANY form until this century. And it’s bunk. I don’t need to debunk it. It’s clear from the entire history and doctrines of the authentic Christian faith to which you don’t subscribe. Why would anyone bother with such futility and your cognitive...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

An Open Theist calling anyone else a lunatic, idiot, or moron is possibly the very pinnacle of irony, nevermind other doctrinal heresies. It’s a good thing your subjective assessments and opinions have nothing to do with righteousness or truth. I can hold all cosmological views at arms length...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

First, I was referring to Neo-Tychonian Geocentricity versus Copernican/Keplerian Heliocentricity, not Flat Earth versus Globe/Sphere Earth. Second, I’m not really concerned about your doubts or your assertions. They’re uncharitable at the very least; and to the extent that such lack of...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

My take, based upon my understanding of (ministerial) forensic psychology, is that Clete is doing as many of us have done when frustrated with online rhetoric topics that seem maddeningly obvious to us on a subject we’re highly invested in. There’s always strong, and often too extreme, emotion...

Well... That was an interesting response.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Yes, I’ve encountered plenty on social media. I didn’t think so, though I’ve not read the thread. It was merely my own mention. Not the Ptolemaic model, so “sorta”. The Neo-Tychonian model has the sun and (fixed) earth inverse, though with all other bodies in the local system orbiting the...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I understand, and I also understand why. There are many FE proponents that are waaaaaaaaaaaay “out there”. I see some unresolved issues for all views of cosmology (and particularly cosmogony). I have a number of acquaintances who aren’t nutjobs who have strong traditional science backgrounds...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

As I understand the geocentricity position (after a number of years of inquiry and research), they posit that space is a “something” rather than a “nothing” as a vacuum; so the “fabric of space” is what they call the luminiferous aether, and it is the densest thing in the cosmos with a Planck...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I’ve spent a number of years doing extensive authentic research of both heliocentricity and geocentricity, and all other attendant factors (including fixed earth, etc.); and I remain unconvinced of ANY of the views being absolutely “proven”. I’m less inclined to seriously consider flat earth...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

No. “Gravity” (whatever it “is”) would be a force. Separating forces from kinematics is necessary. One cannot merely look at movements and presume forces. The movements don’t determine what the force is or what it is doing to effect movement.

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Dave, do you adhere to Ptolemaic Geocentrism or some form of Tychonian Geocentrism? (Or perhaps some other form.)

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

For either “side”, it’s really helpful to separate kinematics from forces. Though related, they are too easily conflated and assigned bias without separating them. (Just a quick .02)
