The Book of Revelation: Mystery Or Profitable?

Nobody can ever do that again, that was the point of 666 maybe just being a single historical individual, in case anybody missed that. Nero was the Roman emperor, and Peter and Paul were right in his backyard cultivating the Church that is in Rome. Paul wrote a famous epistle to this Church...

The Book of Revelation: Mystery Or Profitable?

Interesting. Interesting that you say that there are four main views of Revelation as a book, and that this thread is devoted to the dicussion of those views, but that here the one Revelation passage that is overtly, expressly mysterious (cf. the thread's title) there is only one possible...

The Book of Revelation: Mystery Or Profitable?

Maybe. But 13:18 is an open puzzle, so if the whole book isn't a puzzle, it is a book which contains a puzzle, and it seems like if you know the answer to the puzzle of 13:18, that it can 'unlock' a bit of the mystery of the book.

The Book of Revelation: Mystery Or Profitable?

Apologies for 'crossing threads' here, but in another thread Glory @glorydaz asks what the difference is between the Bride of Christ and the Body of Christ, or something like that. Thing is, if we take the bride of the Lamb to be the Bride of Christ to be the Body of Christ to be the Church...

Dominic Enyart: The Bane of The Bane of Conservatism

Since the legality of abortion rests upon a Supreme Court ruling, it takes another one to nullify, repeal or reverse it.

    No blood needed

John 6 " 53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you."

    Is death just another life?

Yep. The uniquely 'Protestant' view is that all answers must be and are found and can be found in the Bible, the 'canon' of Scripture. But even then as you know you still have to contend with poor and faulty arguments. As "Ray LaFleur" said, "It's the Bible, it's open for interpretation."...

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

It can change the meaning of passages for you if you understand the Church to be the bride of Christ, because then all that is written about the Body of Christ, the Church, and the Bride of Christ, are all talking about the same thing. That's a big change in how you read the Scripture, obviously.

Correct. There were prophecies, not a command.

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Ephesians 2:6 says that we the Church "sit together in heavenly places in Christ". I think the Church is the holy city of Jerusalem descending out of heaven.

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Jewish or not, Revelation 21:10's " that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven" also makes an appearance in Hebrews 12:22 (" the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem") and in Galatians 4:26 (" Jerusalem which is above"). I think these are all the same thing.

What say you? Is the Bride the same as the body of Christ?

Maybe it could be clearer here, but I think it's clear enough: Ephesians 5 " 22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the...

    On the omniscience of God

If Him saying "I change not" is inherently change, then "I change not" is automatically ipso facto a lie. So does God lie, or does God not change. It can't be both.

    chrysostom

Certainly remarkable if true. He prophesied about Nero when Nero must have been a child or a very young man. He couldn't have died any later than AD 33, probably not later than 30 or 31 really, and Nero and his persecution (putting both Peter and Paul to death in Rome) didn't come along until...

    Is death just another life?

If Adam and Eve were expelled from God's presence, and if Christ is God, and if Christ is really present whenever we gather in His name, then what does that say about the idea that in the day that Adam died, when he was expelled from the Garden, that his death was due to his 'separation' from...
