dan P, no matter how you try to change scripture Paul was water baptized then he received the Holy Spirit unless of course you want to re-write scripture.
The relevance shows that water baptism was never set aside. There is only one baptism by the Holy Spirit, but if you follow Jesus and want to please God you will do as He says and be water baptized.

Do you think that all knowledge about something can be found in single passages? Do you look at other passages and put the pieces together to understand the truth? A simple example would be the night when Jesus was betrayed he was in the garden of Gethsemane on the Mt. of Olives. You can't go to one gospel to find all that information. You will need at least three.
You can't look at one side of the coin to determine truth.

Sure. If we look at the context, we can see Paul is dealing with people who have been confused about the resurrection.
16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.
In verse 29 his point is these people are wasting their time.
29 Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?

In Acts 10:47 we know that it is WATER BAPTISM because it says so , I did finish the third grade !!

If as many Madist believe there is only 1 baptism by the Holy Spirit why then did they receive the Holy Spirit BEFORE they were told to be water baptized because they had already received the Holy Spirit ?
