September 3 will be here before we know it.
The short version is Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State (yes, they all have that much talent) Michigan State and possibly USC. USC had the real best QB prospect last year. The scholarship sanctions against USC have expired and they will not be devoid of talent. This also means Oregon will again slide back a bit without the top talent of Southern California having a place to play.
Michigan State you say? Yep. They are very good on both sides of the ball at the line of scrimmage. And getting better. Two of Illinois' best lineman are headed to Sparty (Illinois will continue to suck).
Cody Kessler of USC quietly threw 39 touchdowns against just 5 interceptions. 70% complete for 3800 yards. But many don't know about this pro-style prospect because of the hoopla of Winston and Mariotta.
We will find out if Steve Sarkasian was the right choice for coach for USC. He was the coach at Washington. I can see taking the upgrade myself. Year two has expectations at all football factories.
I also put Baylor close because the Big 12 stinks. Then again the committee looked at the non-conference schedule and held it against them. But maybe not as much as Ohio State pounding Wisconsin 59-0 in the Big Ten championship game. Baylor, like last year, plays nobody outside their weak conference schedule. In fact, they are dead last in strength of schedule for 2015. They are playing a DII team that moved to DIAA (FCS) this year. Don't hurt yourselves. The good part is, this will stop for all the power 5 schools with the playoff. But since schedules are done in advance, they are still playing a "BCS" schedule.
