Eph 2:12
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
Many of the opponents of the Elect being in Christ before the foundation, will often go to this verse, and say, there's a time when people aren't in Christ. However if we ponder this scripture more carefully, it doesnt say that they were out of Christ which is a difference. All men by nature, to include the elect, are without Christ, being alienated, separated from Him. Thats what being without Christ means, being separated from Him, Christ has yet to come into their hearts by the Spirit. When we are born again, Christ is then formed in our heart Gal 4:19, or before He dwells in our heart Eph 3:17, until then we are without fellowship with Christ, to which the elect will be eventually called into 1 Cor 1:9
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Until such a time, we are without Christ. But ; there never was a date in which they were out of Him or not in Him , because they were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world, and preserved in Him and called.
