No. Communism is one step away from socialism, which is the exact goal of the democratic party. I have personally never met a left-wing supporter who did not also support the idea of socialism being the answer to our country's problems.

Quite, in fact this thread seems to be nothing more than an excuse for Nick to say how people are going to hell rather than anything to do with actual politics. Liberalism or left wing ideology does not equal communism or facism except - as with any political leaning - it's taken to the extreme. Won't find moderates endorsing the death penalty for homosexuality by way of, unlike the far right...
