Citizens feel responsibility towards their country. You should be running to get masks and to get vaccinated- out of your feelings as a citizen, not because you are being asked to or forced to. Most US citizens are running to get vaccinated. You should too.

Epidemics can get under control when enough people are immune. That is achieved by either enough people getting sick, and many dying, or by vaccinations. Given the choice-which one makes sense to you?

I am more optimistic. Many who are reluctant will eventually get vaccinated. Some anti-vaxers will get vaccinated quietly. It will turn out that only a small percentage of US citizens are really irresponsible enough to not get vaccinated.

I gather you're about 15 years old, and don't have any relatives over the age of fifty, let alone 65. In Brazil they are doing what you wish the US had done. Nothing. And they are dying in droves. Liberty without responsibility is the behavior of spoiled children

There's hardly anybody left to vaccinate here, at least among the adults. At our peak we were vaccinating about 1% of the population per day. The US is doing that now.
