The baptism of Jesus seemed to be the beginning of His ministry. For when Jesus arose the Father declared Jesus to be His Son. It also appears to be the beginning of the end of John the baptist ministry.

I see as the beginning of Jesus' ministry and an ending to John's ministry. Jesus was sinless, but when John baptised Him God announced Jesus as “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

I worked at a restaurant after I graduated from high school in 1969. Paid my way in Junior College. Then did 20 active years in the Navy and went go a small university.

I believe water baptism is symbolic. It depends on the person being baptized. If they take seriously or not. Going under water is dying to the old self. Coming up out of the water is the new self a believer.

No free-will will not set me free. I have free-will to turn to Christ, repent, and be set free. Many have free-will to do that, but don't.

I believe that it is penalty of sin that makes us turn to God! That is free-will.

I think that to "believe" and "repent" takes free-will.
