The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

What has this to do with my argument? --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Relative to the earth. Why ask, when that's obvious? --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I don't know why you don't see the obvious contradiction. If all particles in the atmosphere were being pulled with the spinning earth then none of them could move in any other direction. The only way to have the atmosphere act as it does "in" a moving car would be for there to be a "solid"...

Why Doesn't The Vacuum Of Space Suck Up Earth's Atmosphere? "Gravity is the reason we have air pressure in the first place. Gravity pulls on the atmosphere, compressing it, and creating pressure. If we could magically turn off gravity then the atmosphere would be released from that compression...

The amount of pull can certainly vary but how can the direction of pull be multi-directional? If the atmosphere is being pulled with the earth then that would be in the direction of earth's spin. If gravity is holding all the particles down ward toward earth then they cannot move upward. --Dave

The Moon is inside Earth's atmosphere, European researchers say This is what it says in the article you referenced. I read an article that said something very different. If the atmosphere is being pulled with the earth then every particle is traveling pretty fast I'd say, wouldn't you? --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Gravity pulls in one direction, downward. So do all the particles in the atmosphere simply move in one direction? --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Where does the atmosphere end and space begin "Outer space does not begin at a definite altitude above the Earth's surface. However, the Kármán line, an altitude of 100 km (62 mi) above sea level, is conventionally used as the start of outer space in space treaties and for aerospace records...

The atmosphere If the atmosphere is moving with the spinning earth then we should be able to locate where the top of that spinning atmosphere is above the earth. There should the place where spinning atmosphere ends and the vacuum of space begins. --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Frame of reference "As there is no absolute frame of reference, absolute motion cannot be determined. Thus, everything in the universe can be considered to be moving." Rational thought is based on antithesis. We know what a thing is not only by it's identity or definition but also by what it...

    1. Does the air move in only one direction? 2. Does the air move at a constant speed as the earth does? Both answers are no, so the air does not move with the earth. --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

We don't experience an earth moving at the speed of sound or more, depending on where we live under our feet. --Dave

The atmosphere cannot both be motionless and be moving at 1000 mph. --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

No one can stand on a car, or an earth, moving at 1000 mph!!! Your relativity idea is not a picture of reality. --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Saying anything that moves, on or above the earth, can "move" freely in any direction through the atmosphere but a spinning earth cannot (or does not) move through the atmosphere is a clear and obvious contradiction. --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Seriously??? The problem is the earth is not moving at any speed, 0 mph, when you're standing on it. --Dave

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

I have said many times that there's good evidence for the spinning globe, but, it all comes from looking into outer space and what's out there rather than looking at the earth itself. I have honestly said I can't counter many good arguments against flat earth, such as you, Clete, and others...

The earth is flat and we never went to the moon--Part II

Not very fast??? "To make one complete rotation in 24 hours, a point near the equator of the Earth must move at close to 1000 miles per hour." The speed of earth at the surface, if it is spinning, is not in dispute. A jet flying at the speed of sound is what it would be like across America...
